Church farms combat food insecurity in Congo

With support from the Yambasu Agriculture Initiative, United Methodists in the South Congo Conference address food insecurity with new church farming projects that transform lives and sow the seeds of self-sufficiency.

Food security from the ground up – Yambasu Agriculture Initiative

Humanitarian relief comes in many forms. The Yambasu Agriculture Initiative supports the agricultural strength of African communities, providing training, tools, seed supplies and other inputs that can raise food scarcity in communities to food abundance.

Slow food and good business encourage women in the West Bank

The United Methodist Committee on Relief, through the World Hunger and Poverty Advance, awarded a grant in August 2024 to the Rural Women’s Development Society in the West Bank, the seventh in as many years. This project provides women with livelihoods, access to vocational training, business mentorship and a living wage in areas that have over 30% unemployment.
