United Methodist Volunteers In Mission – Northeastern Jurisdiction
Project Information
Training, equipping, connecting, and mobilizing volunteers for short-term Christian mission at home and around the world.
Describe the need affecting community
Volunteers in Mission address the expressed needs of communities through activities as varied as disaster recovery, clean water projects, healthcare clinics, pastor training, and construction of safe housing, orphanages, schools, and churches.
How will this Advance project help to address the need?
UMVIM assures volunteers and team leaders are properly trained in intercultural competency, health & safety, mission theology, and more. We also monitor partner projects and direct resources to put volunteers in the right place at the right time.
Describe the primary goal of the project
To mobilize more volunteers by helping them find the place where their God-given gifts meet the world’s great needs. We track progress by: # of teams/individuals in mission, # of training events provided, and # of leaders trained.
