Description
September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, and we invite annual conferences and local churches to help raise awareness and equip faith leaders and congregations to respond with compassion, confidence and hope.
A collection of ready-to-use resources is available to help you participate, including:
- The Suicide Prevention for Faith Leaders and Faith Communities training video
- A promotional toolkit for the training video, including:
- A bulletin insert
- Email newsletter and social media copy and graphics
- A printable church flyer in two sizes
- A slide for displaying during worship/livestream
- A quick reference guide with key concepts from the training video
- Links to videos promoting the training for downloading and sharing:
- A short preview video
- A longer preview video, with experts sharing why the training is important for clergy and faith communities to watch
Churches are also encouraged to consider hosting a screening of the training for clergy, lay leaders and others interested in helping make their congregations safer spaces for mental health and suicide prevention.
If you or someone you know is struggling or in crisis, call or text 988 or chat at 988lifeline.org to connect with the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
