Affirming CIEMAL’s Call for Peace and Nonviolence in Venezuela

We join CIEMAL in prayer for the people of Venezuela and for all communities affected by violence.

The General Board of Global Ministries stands in solidarity with the Council of Evangelical Methodist Churches of Latin America and the Caribbean (CIEMAL) as they reaffirm nonviolence as the indispensable path toward peace and justice. We echo their call for dialogue, diplomacy and respect for human dignity as the foundation for resolving conflicts.

“Our witness as followers of Christ calls us to reject violence in all its forms. Lasting peace must be built through respect for human dignity and the sovereignty of all peoples—never through the imposition of force,” said General Secretary Roland Fernandes. “We stand with our partners in Latin America and the Caribbean in affirming these values and praying for peace.”

We join CIEMAL in prayer for the people of Venezuela and for all communities affected by violence, committing ourselves to pursuing the justice, peace, and hope inspired by our faith in Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace.
