Mississippi Tropical Storm Arthur

In mid-June, southern Mississippi experienced heavy rainfall, strong winds, and widespread flooding associated with Tropical Storm Arthur. More than 500 homes were damaged and thousands of Mississippians now walk the long road to recovery.

As the Mississippi Annual Conference provides immediate relief to those in need, UMCOR is supporting their efforts through a solidarity grant. Awarded in early July, this grant fuels the training and deployment of Early Response Teams (ERTs), the distribution of relief supplies, the removal of debris, and covering the day-to-day immediate needs of the impacted communities.
