On March 28, a 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar, leading to the deaths of at least 1,644 people. In response, UMCOR awarded a solidarity grant to the Methodist Church of Lower Myanmar to support their relief efforts. In May 2025, UMCOR awarded a recovery grant to partner ACT Alliance to provide additional relief and humanitarian aid to those impacted by the earthquake.
