A devastating 6.8 magnitude earthquake shook Morocco on September 8, killing more than 2,000 people and injuring thousands more. UMCOR awarded a solidarity grant to partner Muslim Aid to mobilize relief for those lacking basic necessities of food, water and shelter. A second grant early in 2024 continues the effort to provide emergency relief as needed, intermediate shelter, WASH facilities, fire safety, disaster risk reduction training and psycho-social support for three communities in Al Haouz.
