Rudaviro Mvundura is a Global Mission Fellow with the United Methodist General Board of Global Ministries, engaged in a two-year term of service in youth ministry with the Birmingham District of the Methodist Church in Britain. She was commissioned in August 2018.
The Global Mission Fellows program takes young adults ages 20-30 out of their home environments and places them in new contexts for mission experience and service. The program has a strong emphasis on faith and justice. Global Mission Fellows become active parts of their new local communities. They connect the church in mission across cultural and geographical boundaries. They grow in personal and social holiness and become strong young leaders working to build just communities in a peaceful world.
Rudaviro is from Harare in Mashonaland Province, Zimbabwe. She is a member of the Mabasa Evapostori United Methodist Church in the Zimbabwe West Annual Conference. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and has worked in the fields of human resources and communications.
Growing up in a Christian home and a local church, Rudaviro had a hunger and thirst for Christ at an early age. “My desire is to know him more each day,” she says. “Christ is the author and finisher of my life.”
Her call to mission is linked to a dream – a revelation, she says – of her evangelizing and praying for children being saved from evil.
