Improving the quality of life, education and well-being of pastors, congregations and communities.
Describe the need affecting community
Most of the parents don’t have employment, especially in the homes where mother is both, mother and father. Extreme poverty, the consequence as a result are children don’t get fed or have enough food, nor do they have a good education. For those reasons, the Nicaraguan Methodist Church is doing its work through the programs like Christian Education, and Feeding Program. We also face the problem of three more pastors who are not receiving any kind of economical support, however they continue to firmly work for the community and the church.
How will this Advance project help to address the need?
Providing a support to the families by giving food, but also sharing the good news of salvation through the bible teachings. We are also working on some small projects for local pastors, so they can have a self-sustainable church.
Describe the primary goal of the project
1. Improve pastors’ education, salaries, and pension. 2. Strengthen feeding and health programs for the community. 3. Strengthen the capacity of local churches to be in ministry through pastoral ministries for children, youth, men, and women. 4. Strengthen the development program to make churches self-sustaining. – See more at: http://www.umcmission.org/Give-to-Mission/Search-for-Projects/Projects/14854A.
Describe the change you would like to see in the community as a result of this Advance project
One of the changes that we want to see is a better feeding in the childhood of the community, that would allow them to have a better educational process. A better economical situation of the pastors family.
