Supporting the salaries for the ministers appointed to serve the UMC national church in Estonia
Annual Goal: $8,400.00
Year to Date Gifts: $500.00
Describe the need affecting community
The main need covered by the project is to provide salaries and tax payments for the ministers who have been appointed to serve the UMC congregations in Estonia. Good leadership for the churches is needed for having healthy congregations who can influence the community. For this the pastor’s salary fund has been created. As the national church is not able yet to cover all the salary expenses, many pastors have to find a job outside the church for the income.
How will this Advance project help to address the need?
The project provides the needed contribution to the fund, so that the ministers would be able to dedicate to the ministry of the church.
Describe the primary goal of the project
The primary goal is to support the local ministers, who have been appointed to serve in the UMC congregations in Estonia by paying them salaries so, that they would not need to have a job outside the church and would be able to dedicate themselves for serving their church and the community around them. In the long run it is estimated that the local contributions to the fund increase regularly and the fund will be sustainable. To operate on the local contributions only when the support from other resources ends.
